I have an interest in acupuncture so this came right on time. Upon opening the box, I was surprised at how large it was. Looks wise, its very “medical” looking, as if it belonged in my drs office. This is fine with me because I’m more concerned with its performance and not how it looks.

First time usage had a bit of a learning curve as I tried to figure all the dials and knobs out. The instructions provided were less than helpful (they were bare bones) and the video on the page added only a tiny bit of information. This product is more designed for someone who has an understanding of meridians, points, etc. but that information is readily available and not too difficult to grasp. Even if you don’t have that information, you can use some aloe vera gel (as a conductor) and locate your point as the machine will beep when it hits one.

I think this is a wonderful option for people who are wanting to explore acupuncture but may not have access or the ability to visit an acupuncturist. Its really awesome and fun to play with plus it actually works. I’ve had some success with it so far so I’ll keep on using it.

Thanks to other U.S. reviewers, I learned that one would do well to use aloe vera as this does not come with a conducting gel. The pen itself is a bit large and unwieldy, but it does work well. The first step is to charge it until the light goes off. Always turn it off when it is not in use. Once one gets used to the steps involved, it works quite well.
