Works well so far. I have had no issues with it not heating up. I typically use it for about an hour a day. I will amend the review if this changes. For those who have complained that theirs was not heating up & the seller is really saying it's not supposed to get hot, it's simply not true. It should and does get hot.

it is great to use, but cumbersome.

This infrared lamp works very well. I use it for helping clear my sinuses when I have a sinus headache, and for heating up to relax muscles. It turns out to be the same lamp my massage therapist has and uses on her clients. It's wonderful. And the base makes it very stable. But BE CAREFUL, it gets HOT!
